# Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Wenatchee Area

> A 501(c)(3) nonprofit affordable-housing organization founded in 1990, serving Wenatchee, East Wenatchee, and Chelan & Douglas Counties in Washington State. We build and sell affordable homes to local families who partner with us through sweat equity and an affordable mortgage, and we operate the Habitat Store (ReStore) in Wenatchee.

## What we do
- Build affordable homes with local partner families in the Greater Wenatchee Area.
- Sell those homes to partner families with an affordable, low interest or no-interest mortgage.
- Operate the Habitat Store (Habitat ReStore) selling donated furniture, appliances, doors, windows, trim, and building materials at 50-70% off retail.
- Coordinate individual and group volunteers on build sites, at the store, and on committees.

## Homeownership
Applicants are selected on three criteria: need for housing, willingness to partner (including sweat equity hours), and ability to repay an affordable mortgage. A Habitat home is not free; homeowners buy their home. Application packets are available on the Homeownership page.
